Privacy Policy
Playtics processes the film you upload for your coaching account. We do not sell data, run ads against your film, or use facial recognition.

This Privacy Policy describes how Playtics Inc (“Playtics,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use playtics.ai, our apps, and related services (the “Services”).
Playtics turns basketball game film into box scores, shot locations, minutes and plus-minus, and highlights for coaches and programs. We designed the Services so that your club or team owns its footage, and we process what you upload to produce analysis for your account.

1. Who we are

2. Roles: your team owns the film
For game film and player-related data uploaded through a customer account:
- The customer (coach, club, league, or other organization that contracts with us) is the controller / owner of that content and decides why it is collected and who on their side may access it.
- Playtics acts as a processor / service provider: we process uploads only to provide the Services the customer requested (breakdowns, highlights, season history, account administration, support, and security).
Website visitors and newsletter signups are handled under this Policy as described below.
3. Information we collect
Account and contact information
Name, email, organization or team name, role (for example coach or admin), login credentials, and messages you send us (including the contact and newsletter forms on our website).
Customer content
Game film and related files you upload; roster or player labels you enter; edits, corrections, and notes; and the analytics and highlight outputs we generate from that content.
Usage and device data
Log data, approximate location derived from IP address, browser or device type, and how the Services are used (for reliability, security, and product improvement).
Cookies and similar technologies
Our marketing site and product may use cookies or local storage that are needed to run the site, remember preferences, or understand aggregate traffic. We do not use cookies to sell personal information or to run third-party advertising networks against your team’s film.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Services
- Generate box scores, shot locations, minutes and plus-minus, highlights, and related outputs for your account
- Communicate about accounts, support, product updates, and (where you opted in) occasional marketing email
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not show ads inside the product. We do not use customer game film to train public models or to advertise Playtics on our own channels.
5. How player matching works (biometric statement)
Playtics attributes actions on film using appearance-based cues available in the video and the labels your team provides — for example jersey number, team side, and general appearance consistent with the roster context.
- We do not use facial recognition.
- We do not create or store face geometry templates or voiceprints as biometric identifiers.
- We do not sell biometric identifiers.
If this description changes in a material way, we will update this Policy.
6. Sharing
We share information only:
- With people on your account — coaches, staff, or other users your organization invites, according to the permissions you set
- With service providers who help us host infrastructure, process video, send email, provide support tools, or secure the Services, under contracts that limit their use of the data to providing services to us
- For legal reasons — if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect Playtics, our users, or the public
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality
We do not post your players or your film on Playtics-owned marketing surfaces (website, social, decks, demos). What a coach or parent shares from their own account remains their choice under their club’s rules and releases.
7. Children and minors
- Playtics does not offer accounts to children under 13.
- Accounts are intended for coaches, clubs, leagues, and adult staff. Where a player account is offered, the user must be 16 or older, or a parent/guardian must create and control the account for a 13–15-year-old until a verified parental-consent flow exists for younger teens.
- Game film of minors is typically uploaded by an adult customer. The customer is responsible for holding any media releases or parental consents required by their league, school, or club.
- A parent or guardian may email [email protected] to request deletion of a child’s personal information we process. We will work with the customer account owner where needed to fulfill the request.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 online.
8. Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above:

Backups may persist for a short rolling period after primary deletion, then are overwritten.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of video and sports data — including access controls, encrypted transit where supported, and least-privilege access for staff and subprocessors. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use strong passwords and protect account invitations.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (including California and other U.S. states with privacy laws), you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete personal information
- Obtain a portable copy of information you provided
- Opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share for advertising; you may still send an opt-out request)
- Limit use of sensitive personal information where applicable
- Appeal a decision if we decline a request
How to exercise rights: email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity and respond as required by law. If we process your data only as a processor for a customer, we may redirect you to that customer (your club or coach) so they can instruct us.
You may unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in those messages. Transactional and service messages may still be sent.
11. International users
We are based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand that information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate transfer safeguards for cross-border processing.
12. Schools and student data
Playtics is not currently offered under school-district student-data agreements. If a public school or district becomes a customer, we will put a written data agreement in place before processing student education records as a school official. Until then, do not upload content you are only allowed to share under a school data agreement we have not signed.
13. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page or communicated through the Services or email where appropriate.
